David Groshoff is CRAGSI's core founder, CEO, and managing director. Beyond his role leading the firm, he brings extensive experience in restructurings, reorganizations, workouts, and turnarounds as a portfolio manager, board member, and advisor to high-profile institutional investors, founders, boards of directors, and court-appointed unsecured creditors' committees.

David has 25+ years of experience in special situations investing and restructuring. Since 1997, he has been involved in unlocking intrinsic value from billions of dollars' worth of illiquid assets, including hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of positions in venture capital and private equity.

He served as a special situations portfolio manager, first at Pacholder Associates, Inc., and following Pacholder's exit via acquisition by JPMorgan, subsequently at JPMorgan Asset Management. His expertise spans complex financial restructuring and value creation across distressed and special situations investments.

David has served on the board of directors of three publicly traded companies and has overseen functions ranging from finance to strategy to legal at numerous startups from the Bay Area to Boston, including for several co-founded by a former E&Y Entrepreneur of the year.

David holds a Master's degree focused on law, finance, and economic development from Harvard University and a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he was a member of the flagship Ohio State Law Journal. He also earned an MBA with a Major in Finance from the Haile School of Business at Northern Kentucky University and a Bachelor's degree with honors in 3 years with a double major from Indiana University.
